EKCCMS's security system is another example of the EKCCMS philosophy: easy enough for regular folks to use, yet powerful enough to satisfy the most demanding professional.
To illustrate this prinicple, below are screenshots of the EKCCMS Edit Permissions screen.
Notice how permissions are displayed in plain language so that non-technical users can still achieve powerful results.
As you can see, the possible security options are:
• Make this Content ALWAYS VISIBLE to this USER
• Make this Content ALWAYS VISIBLE to this GROUP
• Make this Content ALWAYS VISIBLE and EDITABLE by this USER
• Make this Content ALWAYS VISIBLE and EDITABLE by this GROUP
• Make this Content FULLY ADMINISTERED by this USER
• Make this Content FULLY ADMINISTERED by this GROUP
• Make this Content ALWAYS INVISIBLE to this USER
• Make this Content ALWAYS INVISIBLE to this GROUP
The screenshot above was taken when editing permissions of a content block. However, the exact same screen and options are used when editing the permissions of sections, as well.
The security options are self-explanatory. However, the options to be EDITABLE and FULLY ADMINISTERED should be noted. Users/groups can be granted permission to be Editors without being granted permission to be Admins of that content. Editors are given access to the Edit Content screen for a particular content block, and cannot change the content's location or section. Content Admins include the ability to change location, to check the "Always Show" option, and can create new content blocks within the section. Although Content Admins can create new content, they will be unable to edit any new content blocks they create unless they have also been granted Section Admin rights for the section.
